Male/Female Hanging.
Old Classmate: Do you still live in Lancaster?

Me: Yes, i do.

Old Classmate: cool, was wondering if we could hang out one day, on your day off.

Me: Aren't you Married?

*Long Pause*

Old Classmate: yeah but there isnt a rule to hang out with friends is it?

Me: well, no there's no rule. but you are married and i really don't think it's appropriate. i don't know if you know what i mean. things change when you're married and when a female and male are involved, that's just asking for trouble. that's like my parents being married and a friend wanted to hang out with my dad. now, i realize the world is "hip" now and some people don't see anything wrong with it, but i am old fashioned and i don't think it's a good idea. it's nothing personal against you, trust me.

I really don't understand people's logic. If you're going to make a commitment to a person like marriage, "hanging out" with other women like that is out of the question... i don't care that we're 23 or 24 years old. I don't know how many people out there would actually be okay with this, but i am not. What married man makes time to hang out with a single woman when they should want to be AT HOME or make time to be with their WIFE?
It's one thing to include your wife in a GROUP outing with mutual friends, but being alone with someone, hanging out? Fuck, no.
He goes on to say that yes, maybe i am right about the whole thing. This is exactly how people get cheated on. There's people out there who think it's okay to hang out with unavailable people and before you know it, there's unfaithfulness and divorce.
